मंगल दोष · Mangal Dosha
Mangal Dosha Calculator
Detect the Manglik / Kuja Dosha pattern in your sidereal chart, and see which classical cancellations apply. The dosha is a heightened-care signature for marriage life — not a verdict.
What this calculator does
Detection. Mars is checked against three reference points — the Lagna, the natal Moon, and natal Venus. If Mars sits in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house from any of them, Mangal Dosha is triggered from that reference. Multiple triggers indicate a stronger classical signature.
Cancellations. We apply the most-cited classical cancellations: Mars in own sign (Aries / Scorpio) or exaltation (Capricorn); Saturn conjunct or aspecting Mars; Jupiter conjunct or aspecting Mars; sign-specific exemptions (e.g., Mars in 2nd in Gemini or Virgo); and the post-28 age reduction widely cited across classical schools.
Severity tier. The calculator combines triggers and cancellations into a single tier — none, mild (largely cancelled), moderate, or strong — so you can see at a glance how the chart actually reads.
How to read the result
- No Mangal Dosha — Mars doesn't trigger the pattern from any reference point. No specific Manglik precautions apply.
- Mild — largely cancelled — Mars triggers the dosha, but strong cancellation rules apply. Treat as a non-dosha chart for practical matching purposes.
- Moderate — partial cancellation. Manglik-Manglik matching, post-28 marriage, or compensating partner-chart features are classically advised.
- Strong — no major cancellation detected. Classical recommendation: Manglik-Manglik matching, classical remedies (Tuesday fasts, Mangal mantra, donation of red items), and consultation with a Vedic astrologer for chart-specific guidance.

Mangal Dosha is a classical pattern with hundreds of years of tradition, mostly within Indian-subcontinent partner-matching practice. The calculator outputs the classical signature; how to use it is a personal and cultural question.
